DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, 7 September 2025\, Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) 
 will open its doors to all interested visitors. Experience cutting-edge re
 search up close and take an exclusive look behind the scenes of one of Eur
 ope’s largest research centres – a place not usually open to the publi
 c.\n\nFrom scientific innovations to interactive hands-on experiments – 
 Open Day offers fascinating insights into the world of research. Explore o
 ur green campus\, which covers an area of over 1.7 square kilometres – t
 he equivalent of around 238 football pitches. Located in the immediate vic
 inity of the town of Jülich\, around 7\,500 employees work here on soluti
 ons for the major social challenges of our time.\n\nResearch that shapes o
 ur future\n\nHow do supercomputers and quantum computers help in the devel
 opment of AI\, climate models\, and new drugs? How can hydrogen technologi
 es and innovative battery storage systems help drive the energy transition
 ? What role do plastic-eating bacteria and sustainable cultivation methods
  play in the bioeconomy? And how do researchers unravel the secrets of the
  human brain using state-of-the-art imaging techniques? These and many oth
 er exciting questions will be the focus of Open Day.\n\nJoin in\, explore\
 , and be amazed!\n\nWhether young or old – there is something for everyo
 ne to discover on Open Day! Young people can experience science in a playf
 ul way during a research rally\, interactive experiments\, and a spectacul
 ar science show. Schoolchildren and students also have the opportunity to 
 find out about career opportunities in science.\n\nAlso featured: Solar TA
 P with exhibits\n\nSolar TAP will also be participating in Open Day with a
  variety of exciting exhibits. Visitors can explore Solar TAP’s latest t
 echnological innovations in emerging photovoltaic.\n\nFree admission for a
 ll!\n\nOpen Day is free of charge and open to all interested parties. Use
