Position:
Group Leader Semitransparent Organic Photovoltaics
Role in Solar TAP:
PI
Research Institution:
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
Introduction
Dr. Christian Sprau is passionate about printable photovoltaics, especially organic solar cells, since his early research days during his bachelor thesis in electrical engineering. For more than 10 years now, he gained profound experience in various aspects of solution processing, device architecture engineering and the utilization of the unique advantages of organic solar cells, such as their semitransparency, for future applications.
Solar TAP Project
Contribution to Solar TAP:
He and his team are currently designing, building and investigating efficient semitransparent organic solar cells that could be upscaled and integrated into greenhouses or polytunnels in the AgriPV sector, one of the key application targets of Solar TAP.
Uniqueness of Solar TAP:
Solar TAP offers the chance to collaborate quickly with industrial partners and thus combine the expertise of Helmholtz research with the needs of industry. The Solar TAP network is a great opportunity to exchange ideas and develop solutions to current technological challenges by joining forces
